15 days left?

I had my last day of work yesterday -Mark gave me a hug good-bye which was really cute. However, it still doesn't seem really final. There are drinks on Wednesday night for Jillian and CCO Pub Night on Friday, so I wasn't really saying 'bye' to anyone, more like 'see you later, have fun working while I sleep-in and watch movies for the next two weeks...'

I had some upsetting test results come back on Thursday. Upsetting because it may result in not having the natural birth that I had envisioned. I'll have to get an IV with antibiotics during labour, which may make moving around difficult and if my water breaks before I go into active labour, they want to induce me...which I'm most upset about. I'm really glad I have Andrea (Doula) and Erica, who is a nurse for support.

Week 37

So here is our house -it actually has a roof and windows now!!!
As per my Cousin Christine's advice I have bought and read the Baby Whisperer. (http://www.babywhisper.com/) And it really made sense to me and I plan on giving the EASY schedule a go.

But me buying into this EASY schedule is interesting because at the same time I have given up the part of me that wants to be in control and am trusting in my body and baby to know when the time is right for Logan's birthday and that we (me, dad and baby) can do the birthing naturally.
I came to this realization of possible conflicting things today and I really don't know what to make of it -are they even confliciting? Hmmmm...

'It's All Good"

Caprii drew this of her and I -that's Logan smiling in my tummy!

Allan and I took this picture when we were first dating. You go in the booth, get your pictures taken and then it morphs them together to predict what your child would look like. Not bad! I guess we'll have to wait a bit to see how close it is....the hair is definitely off!

In other news: we got the crib put together tonight -well, Allan did and I supervised. We had the U___ shower two weekends ago and the P___ one is this weekend. Things are really coming together. As Mikey would say 'It's all good...'

Week 31: Braxton Hicks Contractions

So, here's our house! The walls on the bottom floor are starting to go up which is exciting...there's a lot of snow inside though! LOL

Logan's doing very well. I had my first Braxton Hicks Contraction Saturday morning and then again on Sunday night. Al and I were watching a movie on Sunday and he got to feel my tummy get all hard. Afterwards I had some cranberry juice and Logan was moving around so much that my tummy was shaking. It's nice that Al was there for that.

The last two nights I've even slept better. I still get up every two hours but at least I am now comfortable. The solution: five pillows and a long 'body pillow'.

Here's a picture of me watching Romancing the Stone. I can *just* see my toes over my belly.

Week 30!

So things are going pretty good. I'm feeling a bit like I swallowed a basketball -which is making fitting into pants hard, sleeping difficult and moving around a bit clumsy...but really other than not so bad! LOL I'm trying to just relax and really enjoy it because December goes by so quickly. I'm sure January will go by quickly as there is lots going on -one more ultrasound, a meeting with our Doula, prenatal classes and breastfeeding classes. Hopefully I'll have wrapped up this phase of the project at work and be able to take all of February off to relax.

80 days and huge...

At work I've been moved out of my office and into the 'party room' while our floor gets renovated. While I sometimes miss being able to just close my office door, the new space has it's perks -Sarah C brings me pretzels, we have noon hour tea parties and I'm closer to the bathroom. This last month Logan has had a bit of a growth spurt -like ten pounds worth. This has caused weight gain, the disappearance of my ankles and some leg cramps at night. But overall I guess it's fine since I've been at a pretty stable weight for the past two months or so. And as I look at the picture above which was taken about two weeks ago, I can't honestly say I really look like that anymore, the belly has gotten a lot bigger and more...protrusive? In fact this picture documents the last time I was able to fit into that expanding maternity skirt ...I'll have to get Al to take a more updated picture in the near future. Anyways, I posted it because it shows how I stay comfy at work -yes, those are pink slippers under my desk. I also put my feet up on top of my recycling box -much nicer then the Staple's footrest. I literally have my feet up for like 6 hours a day. I don't think there are many people who can say that. Luck girl!
