Visiting with Tita Sarah

We had a really good Sunday -it was pretty much 'family pj day' until late afternoon. Then we met Tita Sarah for dessert so I could get caught up with all the CCO 'gossip'.



Logan slept for the majority of the time but when he woke up he surprised us with a couple of new faces.... I know every parent must say that their kid is cute but come on, I don't think it's a matter of opinion; Logan is adorable! :)

I love my cousins!

We had another fight night on the weekend so I made dinosaur muffins for the kids. I think the next batch I make might be a little bit more girly for my niece.

Baby Show

Allan and I took Logan to the Toronto Baby Show on Saturday. He seemed to enjoy all the noise and the people moving around him when he was being pushed around in his stroller.

We got a really neat diaper bag that is also a baby seat for when Logan is a bit older called Hoppop. There is a video of it here. I also got a mobile mommy sling....still have to practice and get comfortable with it. Hopefully it Will be alright.

Baby Sleep Solution

Katya, my co-worker at CCO is doing a massive bike ride to raise money for cancer research -over 200 kilometers in two days! I'm totally amazed and proud of her for doing this challenge. Pretty much everyone has a friend or family member who has been touched by cancer. Five dollars is not a sacrifice but little donations add up. The research it supports could help saved a loved ones life or maybe even your own. Today is day one of trying out the Baby Sleep Solution. I read this book last night and it's a bit of the 'BW', 'Happiest Baby on the Block' and the 'No Cry Sleep Solution' -except this lady says start at eight weeks and by 12 weeks your baby will sleep through the night -not just six or seven hours of sleep but up to twelve and take two regular naps in the day. Um, yeah, I'm totally all over this one! The 'No Cry' book basically says you're out of luck until month four.


So this is day one of following the first of four steps. The first step is getting your baby to eat every four hours in the day (8am, 12am, 4pm and 8pm) and try to get him to be the wake the most between the last two daytime feedings (4-8pm). This needs to be established first before working on the night feedings. Anyways, you can track our progress on our Trixie Tracker page.

Here's one of the charts from our tracker showing the propability of Logan being awake or sleep. Hopefully in four weeks the 8am until 8am will be become solid black.

Bath Time

I think the spa indulgence while I was pregnant might have had an osmosis effect on Logan. He isn't too keen on his little plastic infant bath but loves a big bath with bubbles where he can 'swim'. He has even fallen asleep once while I washed his hair.

Ikea Goodness

Allan gives me some 'off time' every Sunday. In the morning I go to my meditative yoga class to clear my mind and balance in my chakras -Lee should be proud of me. Then in the afternoon I have time for making cupcakes. I had no idea that there are so many people obsessed with cupcakes out there! Lot's of pages and pictures to inspire me! My muffin tops are more puffy and rounded now so things are improving...I've decided that my trademark is going to be the mini two-bite muffins. Yum-yum!

Note that the cupcakes I made are in 'Ikea colours'. Back in University I worked at Ikea, hence when I walk into your living room I know that you're sitting on an Klippan sofa which is beside a Billy bookcase and Lack side tables. Anyway, on Monday we delivered the muffins to my friends at Ikea North York so they could meet Logan -AKA 'Larry' as Tom likes to call him.

Ulcle Alwyn's Birthday

On the weekend we had brunch to celebrate Uncle Alwyn's birthday.

It also gave time for Logan to hang out with his cousins -or rather the other way around since he slept for the majority of the time.

I'm sure everyone is wondering 'Muriah can sing?!?' Perhaps the only thing anyone has heard me sing is 'Happy Birthday'. Vicki couldn't get me to do karaoke and Margo wouldn't be able to get me to sing a Christmas Carol but this little guy has me 'singing' to him all the time.



I don't know any of the standard lullabys or baby songs so I just make it up. These are his favorite ones:
