Poor Daddy

Kali had a PD day so Daddy had it booked off....then Mommy came home from work early! To take Daddy to the emergency room!
His knee swelled  up and he couldn't walk! We thought he torn something but it turns out it was gout. Luckily Kali was great during our afternoon in the ER.

Sick Days

When Logan is feeling really sick he asks to see Grandma and Grandpa and to watch "Logan videos" on the computer. Monday Logan puked all over Daddy and was cuddly sick. Tuesday he was very cranky -screaming, crying, indecisive, had a thirty minute nap, not hungry and had not had a poo since Sunday night. Sigh. Tough day for all of us.
Here he is watching his videos on Monday...
On Wedneday Logan was feeling better but in the evening he fell down the stairs! It was a tough couple of days for all of us, so we went to the toy store and Logan got to pick out something --he choose a saxaphone!

First of the Season

We went to Lionel's petting zoo on Sunday. It was the first time of the season and Logan wasn't as enthusiastic about feeding the animals as he has been in the past. See here, here or here. He liked looking at them but didn't want get too close.

In other news, Logan stayed home from school today (Wednesday) -when he woke up he was HOT and his eyes and his nose were runny. He was one cranky toddler for most of the morning and then mellowed out into a cuddly sick boy.

This Week

Logan is feeling a lot better now. Here is the puffer he's been using this week...He loves playing Mr. Potato Head with Daddy. Logan is a modern man and likes to help clean up around the house.
But he also likes to make a mess! Here is building a fort.
At the library with Mommy.

Crazy Weekend

We visited the cousins earlier on in the week and Ki gave Logan his sock monkey. Very sweet and a very proud moment to see our nephew be so mature and giving to his little cousin. And Logan adores his monkey -he eats and sleeps with his monkey now. We took Logan to Bass Pro which is a huge "outdoors" store with a massive fish tank and stuffed animals all over the place. Logan liked the fish tank but was scared of the large cat fish.

There were animals all over the store...
And the Easter Bunny was there! No line up either! Logan wouldn't go up the Bunny alone and was a bit afraid of him but at least it wasn't like when he met Santa!
Saturday night Logan was coughing a lot and had a fever. Poor guy woke up around three with snot all down his face and asking for medicine. Sunday he seemed to be coughing non-stop and was breathing like he had asthma --off to our clinic! The clinic is open 12:30 to 3pm on Sundays; right at nap time. By the time the doctor got to us Logan had cried himself to sleep in my arms; which made the check up go smoothly! He could check his chest, his ears, his throat: everything with no problem!
Turns out Logan has an ear and chest infection. After waking up when got home, he went to bed for another two hours. This was him when he woke up--very sick, very hot and very, very sweaty!
When our little guy is sick he asks to cuddle and watch a "Logan Show", AKA home videos. We've recently introduced YouTube to him --now he requests random things he wants to see. Logan's most popular requests: "Micheal Jackson", "Billy Jean", "Beat It", "Snowman", "Duck" and "Baby".
Yup, even when he's sick he super cute. This is like ten minutes after he woke up...

Logan's taking some medicine for his ear infection and fever and has a puffer for his cough/chest. I'm going to stay home Monday with him at home. Hope he is feeling better soon!

A week with Grandma and Grandpa

Logan got the stomach flu on Thursday. Then just when that was done, he got an eye inflection on Sunday. It's been a week and he is now finally looking at lot better. We were very lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa come look after him.
Highlights for Logan included seeing the "big truck", making a "baby snowman" and going for walks to see ducks. Logan loves looking through our photo albums...
Showing off the "outfit" that he "made". Future male model or fashion designer?
We did a video chat to Vietnam so the Grandparents could see Katie "live" for the first time...
"Hi, Baby Katie! I love you!"

Logan got Grandma to join the Micheal Jackson fan club too!

Breakfast at Ikea -tummy feeling better!
Cooking dinner
Oh no! Now the flu is gone but an eye infection is starting!
It started in the right eye and then by mid-week it was in both...
Giving his duck a popsicle.

Showing off a dance move from a Micheal Jackson video...

The Flu

Logan got the flu last weekend.
By the time our backup arrived (Grandma & Grandpa), Mommy was sick.
The next morning Daddy was sick.
A day later Grandma was sick.
And the day after that Grandpa was sick.
Between blow-out diapers, cleaning up puke from the sofa and a million loads of wash we still had a great time together! I'm very proud and thankful for my wonderful family...
Getting panda bear rides. "Hold on!"

Happy New Year!

We had a bit of a rough start to the new year with Logan being sick. He got a bad cough --croup, which changed his eating habits, which gave him a tummy ache and some gas...which was combined with a runny nose. Such is life. We were happy to have Grandma and Grandpa ring in the new year and be there to respond to cries at 12:05am New Year's morning.

Logan has been feeling much better and seems to be back to his normal self, although perhaps not eating as much as normal. He's talking a lot and LOVES to sing and dance. We're been getting a lot of random singing from him lately...Happy Birthday, Ba Ba Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle, ABC Song, and the Bob the Builder Theme Song are all standards. This past weekend he's been singing stuff we had no idea he knew to sing by himself --like the Family song from Yo Gabba Gabba or the I Love You song from Barney....and a bunch of others we don't know.

Logan is really enjoying all the books he got for Christmas. He likes when we ask him to point things out. I'm surprised at what he knows -besides the normal key things like farm and zoo animals he can point out a dolphin, knows different musical instruments, and knows the difference between a bus, a truck, a plane etc.

Logan helped put together a Lego chair to sit in since he kept trying to sit in Ernie's chair...And check out of new paint colour in the background! Love it!
