Park, Dual Birthday Lunch and Tita Helen!

After breakfast Logan and I went for a walk to the park. Logan got some sand toys and a pail as his loot bag from Xyris' birthday party. He was very excited to try them out...

For lunch we met up with Lolo, Lola, Uncle, Auntie and the three cousins to have a family birthday celebration for Allan and Xyris.

"I'm finally going to see Tita Helen! Forget about that afternoon nap; I'm too excited!"

Happy Birthday, Dada!

Daddy had a well deserved late night on Friday to celebrate his birthday. We let Daddy sleep in until almost noon for his birthday present. Then at lunch we headed over to Xyris' third birthday party. Logan really liked Auntie's flowers.

"Cheese!"

Logan can now drink out of a straw. His motivation -sugar. At home we give Logan watered down fruit juice, water or milk. The chance to drink Kool-Aid was enough to get him to master drinking from a straw.

The party was a beach theme. We had a nice hot day but with an unfortunate cool breeze. Logan really like playing with his cousins with a bucket of water. Who knew this would be so much fun! I'll have to remember this when we go camping in August...

Logan's bigger cousins always look out for him and take care of him. Here he is playing with Kiyan and Max.

It was a nice warm day but there was a bit of a cool breeze. Logan was one of the few brave ones to go through the sprinkler.

This was taken moments before Logan stuck his hand into the top of the cake and Xyris slipped and hit his face on the table giving himself a bloody nose. Very memorable!

Happy Canada Day!

Logan woke up at 7:40 am today....a nice sleep-in for all of us. I normally wake up at 5:30am and get Allan and Logan up at 6:30am. So sleeping past 7 is a real treat for us. After I get Logan out of his crib he aways runs over to Daddy for his morning snuggle and to play with the cell phone.

"Hello, is Elmo there?"

Canada Day landed on a Wednesday this year. It was on and off rainy so we just stayed home -went for walks, played at the park, played in the backyard...
We were very happy to have Grandma and Grandpa over to spend time with too!

We made a 'get well' card for Uncle Oscar. Logan likes art projects but it's sometimes hard to get him to stay in one place -he wanted to take his crayons into the tv room. I guess we have to just keep at it until it becomes routine and he knows that the art supplies stay by the easel only.

Logan is now 16 month and 2 weeks. He can say a few words now: Momma, Dada, ball, shhhh, knock-knock, banana, bye-bye, cheese and dude.

Sunday at the Farm

We went from a lovely sunny Saturday to a wet and rainy Sunday. After being stuck in the house for most of the day we headed to the petting zoo when the rain briefly stopped. When we got out of the car and Logan saw where we were, he was so happy!

Wonderland Splash Park

We knew it was going to be a lovely Saturday so we headed out after breakfast to the Wonderland splash park.

Lucky for us, the cousins had the same idea!


Logan really liked the waves and the swimming lesson from Daddy.
