Week 31: Braxton Hicks Contractions

So, here's our house! The walls on the bottom floor are starting to go up which is exciting...there's a lot of snow inside though! LOL

Logan's doing very well. I had my first Braxton Hicks Contraction Saturday morning and then again on Sunday night. Al and I were watching a movie on Sunday and he got to feel my tummy get all hard. Afterwards I had some cranberry juice and Logan was moving around so much that my tummy was shaking. It's nice that Al was there for that.

The last two nights I've even slept better. I still get up every two hours but at least I am now comfortable. The solution: five pillows and a long 'body pillow'.

Here's a picture of me watching Romancing the Stone. I can *just* see my toes over my belly.

Week 30!

So things are going pretty good. I'm feeling a bit like I swallowed a basketball -which is making fitting into pants hard, sleeping difficult and moving around a bit clumsy...but really other than not so bad! LOL I'm trying to just relax and really enjoy it because December goes by so quickly. I'm sure January will go by quickly as there is lots going on -one more ultrasound, a meeting with our Doula, prenatal classes and breastfeeding classes. Hopefully I'll have wrapped up this phase of the project at work and be able to take all of February off to relax.

80 days and huge...

At work I've been moved out of my office and into the 'party room' while our floor gets renovated. While I sometimes miss being able to just close my office door, the new space has it's perks -Sarah C brings me pretzels, we have noon hour tea parties and I'm closer to the bathroom. This last month Logan has had a bit of a growth spurt -like ten pounds worth. This has caused weight gain, the disappearance of my ankles and some leg cramps at night. But overall I guess it's fine since I've been at a pretty stable weight for the past two months or so. And as I look at the picture above which was taken about two weeks ago, I can't honestly say I really look like that anymore, the belly has gotten a lot bigger and more...protrusive? In fact this picture documents the last time I was able to fit into that expanding maternity skirt ...I'll have to get Al to take a more updated picture in the near future. Anyways, I posted it because it shows how I stay comfy at work -yes, those are pink slippers under my desk. I also put my feet up on top of my recycling box -much nicer then the Staple's footrest. I literally have my feet up for like 6 hours a day. I don't think there are many people who can say that. Luck girl!

Week 27: 90 days or so to go....

Helen came for a visit from London! It was a nice surprise to see her again.

Last Friday Helen and Sarah came for a sleepover. Sarah made us both feel old by not knowing the movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'. But then she redeemed herself by making buttermilk pancakes in the morning. Yum! I had them with vanilla ice cream and real maple syrup and they were amazing!

Allan, Helen and I took a road trip to Niagara Falls on Saturday. We stayed at Doubletree, which was bling-bling. They had a really nice gym and a wonderful pool. It felt so refreshing floating on my back and doing laps. I felt like a star fish.

Then on Sunday we went to an outlet mall in Buffaloo to do some shopping. I was all hyped up because they had a Mother Maternity Factory Outlet store there...or at least they did! They closed that location a week or so before got there. :~( It was rather tragic but Helen bought me a slushie and then it was okay.

In baby news: I'm two-thirds of the way to the end and now in the third trimester. The baby is about two pounds now and around 37 cm. I can feel Logan moving around a lot now.

Pretzel Cravings

I pressed snooze this morning and as I laid in bed I look over to my left. Where the bookcase use to be there was a pretzel store and two guys making fresh pretzels!
I nudged Allan and said 'Al, I think I must be dreaming. There's a pretzel store our our bedroom!'
He replied 'Nope, we're both awake.'
The pretzels looked buttery and salty and I felt it was too good to be true. 'Are you sure, Allan?'
'Yup, we're definately awake -I just pinched myself'
OMG!!! Feeling like the luckest pregnant woman ever, I reatched over from the comfort of my bed to grab a warm pretzel...and my alarm went off. :(

But having the wonderful husband that I do, he took me to get real ones on the way home from work today. :)

Logan's Kicking

Logan's kicks have been getting alot stronger lately -more distinct and less like 'bubbles'. Allan was able to feel him move for the first time on Saturday!

Our house is also coming along. The foundation has been poured...

We have a massive backyard!

A Busy Baby Weekend

A great weekend for us! We went to the Mom to Mom Green Baby show. I found it really interesting and learned a lot -did you know they make material out of bamboo? And despite what family and friends have said I'm still interested in cloth diapers -maybe not 100% but I think it could be an option to use at home. It's something that I'm going to investigate further.
This show was a warm up for Allan and I since next weekend is the 'big' baby show downtown.

We also visited Lori and Jason's new addition Evan. Sooooo cute! Jason also gave us a very graphic play-by-play of what to expect. They had their baby at the hospital we will be at, so we also got the gossip on the nurses -we got a full description of the one nurse to avoid but overall they thought everyone there was wonderful.

Our house is coming along -finally! If things went as planned we would have moved in this September. Last news we got is that it would now be ready June 2008. However in the last few weeks things seem to be on a role. The foundation for the garage is in now and it looks like the house foundation might be poured in the next week.

On Sunday Vicki, Mom and I went to the Johnston and Johnston and the Procter and Gamble warehouse sales. It was worth the long line ups and got lots of goodies for the baby.

Logan gets his first blog!

Allan and I are starting a little blog for the newest member to the family so that our friends and family out of town can get their weekly updates...
We're at 23 weeks now. He's about 11 inches long and around a pound. Logan is moving around a lot more now but dad has yet to feel him. He can hear too! Daddy is talking to him about basketball and playing him music. We've also got the 'Baby Plus' system going on the tummy twice a day since 18 weeks -Logan's on lesson 5 now(http://www.babyplus.com/).
And I'm happy to report that I'm not in too much discomfort. None of my shoes fit and I get growing cramps in my side and sometimes in my legs but nothing too bad.
